Cool faces, cool places: What’s up in Orlando tech this month?

If you need a theme for Orlando tech events this month, perhaps you could go with: “Cool faces, cool places.”

Each of the events below has become a staple in Orlando’s tech scene and this month they visit some cool venues that perhaps also become regular stops for Orlando tech.

It all starts Thursday at an augmented reality theater then shifts to one of the more famous blocks in downtown Orlando.

At the end of the month (literally), the community has a chance to visit one of the more unique coworking spaces in Orlando.

Before we get into August events, check out the full calendar HERE.

Here is a rundown of the events you should RSVP to, ASAP.

VR/AR Association Central Florida Meetup

We begin our event tour with a trip to Lake Nona to experience augmented reality at the Verse AR theater. This venue recently debuted and it’s pretty slick. Visit with the VRARA community and be immersed in a first-of-its-kind experience in Orlando.

The event starts at 6 p.m. and will be held at Lake Nona Town Center 6877 Tavistock Lakes Boulevard

Orlandopreneur monthly meetup

One of the more recent groups to emerge and provide a place for potentially serendipitous meetings and collisions is Orlandopreneur. Their monthly meetup tends to tour the city and, this time, they are heading for the Blue Martini Lounge at Pointe Orlando.

The three-hour event starts at 6 and will be held at Blue Martini Lounge 9101 International Drive #1182

TenX Tech Wall Street Takeover

Anyone who was at the last takeover will likely be back, as that event drew a ton of high marks. Yes, at its core, it’s three hours of networking but with a series of area organizations setting up shop at each of Wall Street’s venues, it’s also a way for groups to get the word out about what they do.

TenX Tech takes over Wall Street at 6 p.m. in various Wall Street Plaza venues.

Cool Developer Talks at ODevs

The long-running ODevs group returns this month with a discussion about the impact of artificial intelligence and other topics with Dr. Tracy Boyd of Central Florida Tech Grove and Patti Brownsward of Grounded with Data.

ODevs will be held at Credo Conduit 1001 N. Orange Ave.

You can RSVP on Eventbrite HERE.
