A group of virtual reality experts in Central Florida will discuss advancements that the technology has made in education, deveopment and research.
The event will serve as the monthly meetup for the Central Florida chapter of the VR/AR Association.
Free tickets are available on Eventbrite for the event, which starts at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.
The meeting will be hosted online on the Zoom platform.
Central Florida’s simulation, video game, military and tech industries have helped prop up the region’s knowledge base in the next-generation technology.
UCF, the second largest school in the country, has contributed to that with its academic programs and instructors.
The roster for the meeting is as follows:
- Dilmer Valecillos – Founder of Learn XR a learning platform for all things extended reality. The platform focuses on teaching design and development of extended reality experiences.
- Carolina Cruz-Neira – Agere Chair at the Department of Computer Science at University of Central Florida
- Gregory Welch – Professor and AdventHealth Endowed Chair in Simulation at University of Central Florida
- Lisa Dieker – Pegasus Professor and Lockheed Martin Eminent Scholar at University of Central Florida
- Maria Harrington – Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida
- Ryan McMahan – Associate Professor at the University of Central Florida
